Calvinists in the moonlight

This ditty was inspired by this post at Calvinistic Cartoons.  The tune is Moonlight in Vermont written by John Blackburn and Karl Susseldorf.  The original is sung by the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald.

Edwards on the shelf
Spurgeon magnet on your fridge
Cage-stage Calvinist

Monergism Tee
Tulip tattooed on your arm
Cage-stage Calvinist

Throw out old books that don't teach election
To make room for dead puritans
Get into fights over predestination
And pull out your new favorite book that's...

Calvin's Institutes
Bench press with your ESV
Cage-stage Calvinist

I am enjoying reading your song lyrics! We do a lot of spontaneous song at our house, but yours are so much better. If you're interested, I'll share one of our favorites, "It's Good to Be Clean" sung to the tune of "It Had to Be You," but it's a song about a shower rather than a spiritual cleansing. :-D Thanks for sharing these!

Hi Beth:

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes to make up lyrics to old tunes. :)
